Ray of Hope - 121st Draw

Agreed. Everyone looks out for their own best interests and rightly so. I have no issue with someone outscoring me and having the right to apply before I do even if they’d rather be somewhere else or eventually decline the offer

Ray of Hope - 121st Draw

Seems to be inconsistent. I got my ECA from WES back recently in about 3 weeks covering 2 qualifications. Didn’t assess them how I wanted, but that’s another mattero_O

I would say apply together and don’t worry about this as a dilemma. With the timeframe you’re talking about, it probably works okay anyway. So once you get the invite, apply, get approved etc, you’ll probably be Q1 2020 anyway. And you have a certain period of time to land in Canada (I think 6...

Two or More Certificates, Degrees or Diploma - Let's Get it Sorted

Have to say the WES assessment process and how they grade certain qualification has been the most frustrating part of my PR process to date. Coupled with the somewhat arbitrary scoring you get for certain qualifications doesn’t feel like it serves the purpose the Canadian immigration...

Ray of Hope - 121st Draw

Not really sure why you’d bother coming on to a forum where people are encouraging each other and being hopeful about their futures just to criticise and lecture on what immigration agencies may or may not think without knowing any better than anyone else. But anyway, happy weekend to you too!

Ray of Hope - 121st Draw

Following on from my previous response and having thought on it, I’m inclined to agree. I think it’ll definitely look like you tried to be play the points system and if they think it’s dishonest, you could be barred from applying again soon. You’d need to explore whether your spouse could stay...

Ray of Hope - 121st Draw

I can understand why you did this on a personal level but I wouldn’t have advised it. I guess now your best option now is to state you want to stay in Canada and they don’t know. I don’t know where that leaves your spouse as they are a dependent currently. I’m sure others can advise on whether...

Ray of Hope - 121st Draw

I suspect they saw the average scores for the cut off dropping and decided to pause it to maintain the calibre of people their letting in. The affect is certainly shocking though. You’d be looking at around 449-450 if that break hadn’t have happened

Ray of Hope - 120th Draw

I think the writing part is much more subjective in terms of how it is marked. I got three 9s and a 7 for writing which was a ‘disappointing’ surprise. I should have got it remarked but didn’t think I needed to. Those extra points would come in handy now!

Ray of Hope - 120th Draw

You and me both! 455 too. It’s a funny system they’re using isn’t it. One month 440 is enough, next month 460 isn’t.... Still, it’s a privilege not a right and their scoring approach is clever in the way it rewards points!

Ray of Hope - 120th Draw

I really hope for the mental health of everyone on here because I can see how much of a strain it’s having on you all I thought I was looking good for the ITA before the 470 bombshell. Timed finalising my submission too late. Live and learn I guess.....

    ICAEW Equivalence

Hi. I replied to your question in another thread but thought I’d add in here as you mention the Canadian CPA as well. My ACA was graded as equal to a 3 year bachelors degree. On the CPA, my understanding (might be wrong) is that if you are trying the get points for having a ‘Canadian...

    Double qualification criteria?

Hi. My ACA came out as equal to a 3 year bachelors degree. Best of luck

    Double qualification criteria?

Hey! I’m at the same stage as you. They’ve got my documents at the moment. Here is a summary of my fact finding. Nothing definitive but hopefully points to a positive outcome! I spoke to the ICAEW about the concerns and they said they send docs to WES on a daily basis. The conversation pretty...

    Double qualification criteria?

Hi. I’m in the same boat is you. Lots of conflicting info on whether an ACA can be assessed by WES or can be counted as a qualification for CRS purposes. Have you been able to make any progress? I’m going to give WES a call tomorrow to see if I can clarify it specifically

ACCA equivalency through WES!! pls help.

Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum. Thanks everyone who has created such a valuable resource! Interested to read that the ACCA is validated by WES. I’d heard that they don’t access professional qualifications. Does this not include the ACCA then? I’ve got an ACA issued in the UK, so very...
