I thought it was only possible when doing an application Inland? If I'm wrong, that's a very good strategy!

That makes me think... is it okay to have a different address on the receipt than the actual residential address of the sponsor? what do you guys think? This is my last chance to correct that mistake. We wrote down my sponsor's Canadian address, but his current residential address (or mailing...

Thanks! Working on it right now. Is it bad that I get all paranoid, like I must be missing another 500 little details like that? ???

    August 2012 Applicants Thread =)

I have a question. In IMM5669, Q8, one has to list the personal activity back 10 years or since you were 18, whatever comes first. I just realized, I just filled out the whole box, but in fact it doesn't account for either the past 10 years or since I was 18-- is this like in other forms, and I...

We just filled that up, and after a little research (with no 100% clear answer), we decided that we had to put the sponsor's information. Also, we wrote down the address linked to the credit card instead of the current residence, because somewhere we read it could also be meant as another...

I'm so sorry for everyone who has to be apart from their spouse :( It's so difficult! It makes me sad just to remember the day my husband had to go back to Canada the first time (when he came to Chile to see me for the first time), so I can relate :( Here we're meant to give each other support...

Processing Times Stats - Spouses & Partners

When I download this document and check, I realize only 57 people applied last year (12 months before March 2012) in my country.... ONLY 57?? :o :o That's so few! Somehow it makes the 30% processed in 8 months look better: 18 out of 57 people got their PR in 8 months, with a higher chance to be...

When I was redoing the IMM0008, I noticed a difference... Where you have to write the applicant's height, I wrote 175cms-- and it automatically added a 5'9" next to it! I mean, if that's all.... ??? Anyway, I hope they consider a grace period.

    August 2012 Applicants Thread =)

Ok, thanks! I'm including the emails, just in case, to explain why we're not sending them. I have a question, out of curiosity: do they have to read every single paper we send? Or they judge how much of the proof folder they read, e.g., until they're "convinced" our relationship is genuine...

One way plane ticket to land in canada as a resident

It is cheaper considering how much each ticket costs... but one way ticket is cheaper as a final cost.

    August 2012 Applicants Thread =)

Yes, thanks for that! That's good! Like KJG said, 1-3 days won't actually make all that much of a difference ;) So, I have a question for you guys: As I start making sure I have all my papers, I realize I assumed I didn't need a paper because I didn't need it before. Let me explain: I was in...

Yes, I had to refill the 2 forms we had out of date. It wasn't a big deal, except one of them didn't save correctly after validating it and I had to re-do it... anyway, we're still saving time if we think we might have had them returned :) Check this thread...

One way plane ticket to land in canada as a resident

I think it's fine to get a one-way ticket. I used one when I travelled to Canada for a Working Holiday program (1 year), and had no problems buying it. At the airport, though, while I was doing the check-in, the lady on the other side of the counter did ask me about it, but a near-by co-worker...

    August 2012 Applicants Thread =)

As long as I don't have to re-write forms, it shouldn't take me any longer!! Well, I guess that whatever it takes will be a shorter period than if I had to have my package returned :-\
