Yes, the news is good for everyone in process and the new ones. But for in process, its max 12 months from now, not from the date we submitted our application (like how Harkirankaur was calculating). Lets hope for the best. :)

Thanks dude.. That's what I am wondering. There has to be some co-relation between this email and spousal application. I hope we hear something from CIC after this email.. Hopefully PPRs. :)

Many May applicants are here, but all of them waiting for Background check updates. Hence, no post from us in the forum. I hope NDVO starts working on May applicants soon.. :)

Yeah.. I guess, NDVO is trying to clear all backlogs from 2015 applicants rather than moving with the new applicants. That sounds fair, but just not sure how some jan-apr applicants got PPRs. I guess now they stopped for 2016 since 3 weeks and now working on 2015 files. Lets hope for the best. :)

Thanks dude. I also called my tax accountant who does my IT return filing, and he told me the same that I can claim tax return for her as a dependent, no matter what visa she is on. As far as she is in Canada, its considered as dependent. Thanks for the H&R option too.

I have a question. My wife PR file is in process. We applied for TRV and she got it till passport expiry date for 4 years. My question is regarding IT return filing. If my wife is here on visit visa, would I get the IT return benefit for her as a dependent, or only work permit/pr are eligible...

You guys are still arguing whether its 13 months or 18 months. Please stop this argument and justifications in this forum thread. This ain't gonna help. Timeline is case dependent. There is no guarantee if it will take 3 months or 3 years. So just relax and pray for PPRs. :) Peace Please.. :)

Can you provide more details about your application? Are you an applicant from India, or some other place like Nepal, Bhutan, etc. I didn't see any application processed in 5 months yet. Please provide more details. Thanks.
