I think that's fine. You can note on SOP that you will turn 18 soon. My visa was stamped on my passport 4 days before I turned 18.

In his case though, he submitted on Friday. It will be sent to the visa office on Monday only (22nd). They normally take at least 3 days. If that's the case then, he may get it on 25th only. It's too close to call.

You will have to wait. It just means your application was opened for processing but you will receive a couple of 'updated' emails before getting any decision.

Since you're from India, ETA doesn't apply to you. I guess you're using the ETA status to somehow check your visa application status. As you have submitted a visa application offline, you can link it online to check the status.
