When you call IRCC ask specific questions, like what is teh status of my eligibility check? is it started, in progress or complete? whats the status of my other assessments?... they will then respond to your individual questions. At least that is how they did it for me. Make a list of questions...

Yes, there are express entry pnp categories too. It will clearly state so in the nomination certificate and the info should be available on the provincial websites too.

On the background info changes - I have a PR Card case linked to MyCIC account and it has been updated from the normal background to "not applicable". No other updates on the card.
