Point taken. I was sure of my answer hence I put it here, else as you said I would have mentioned that I wasnt sure. I think the last year the rejection was not due to certificate from consulate but the fact that he did not include a birth certificate at all and the other person wanted to know...

Internet can say a lot of things... question is - is it from a valid source? if you are sure that it is indeed from a valid source.. like an official release ..then dont take chances. I have no intention to spoil anyone's dreams mate, just explaining why it is not a problem. Consulate's...

Rule of thumb... as long as it is from a government authority that too a central authority it is pretty much as good as municipal authority to be valid as birth certificate. the CIC would like to know who is authorizing you a birth certificate tom dick and harry or a proper govt official.. :-X

you want to know for May 31st..? CIC is still in love with 7th May applicants.. :-* and no idea how long they will continue this affair.. :P
