Make sure you take your latest bank statement with you in case they want to know how much you have in your account :)

You are visiting your girlfriend so say that. It's not illegal to do that. However if you lied and said you were visiting someone else and they looked at your phone (which they can do) and saw you were actually visiting your gf then they could get suspicious. Never lie to the officers. But also...

No one can tell you the risk. It's at the border officer's discretion. They don't have to let you back in. I wouldn't do it because it's risky.

If you gave your email address then they use that as primary way of contact and will email AOR I believe. It said something like 'if you fill in email address, we will contact you via this' (not exact words but example). Check spam folder.

Our immigration consultant told us this info too. However, if you do get 6 months then it is totally ok to apply for a visitor extension while in Canada for up to a year.

My common law partner works full time during the week so I do those classes during the day to stay busy, meet people and not get cabin fever... :)

If she is a British citizen can she not apply through the UK? Yes she could arrive as a tourist but has to convince the officer that she will leave Canada when her time is up - have a return ticket, money (so they are convinced she won't work illegally). Just because she is a British citizen...
