Hey Folks, just a question regarding the passport surrender to consulate / BLS, can I surrender expired passport ? my passport expired two months ago and I am hoping to get my citizenship soon as May 2019 applicant awaiting for the oath ceremony. I am hesitant to renew my passport for few months...

Unfortunately you are put behind the queue where nobody knows when will they consider inviting people who missed their oath, missed mine on 8th Feb 2020 and I will be lucky if get invited for another year or so.

Q1) One question I would ask can we have service guarantee of these services from immigration and if IRCC misses the timeline due to the problems at their end, should they return the fee collected ? Q2) More transparent access to the case notes like self service.

IRCC should be shameful not me, I asked them a question that they should be shameful to get one such. One should be ashamed of getting paid and not to work call it system, process whatnot still doesn't justify.

I just reached out to IRCC through webform and sent a shameful question out of desperation, trying to rattle someone's cage to get an adequate response.

Thats correct, all they do phone the IRCC on a dedicated line ask for an update which we all can do too.

Yes I did along with a supporting document and still do not know if that has been accepted.

Everybody circumstances different, I went through a same situation that I could not attend my oath ceremony neither notify IRCC beforehand. @hardnut I am in sameboat and IRCC has no news once the file moved to the local office in my case Scarborough local office.

I missed my oath ceremony on February 8th due to a personal emergency situation and trying to get back in queue for next oath ceremony scheduling must admit its frustrating with the way IRCC responds and working on future oath ceremony planning.

Looks like somebody bought FedEx shares :D, jokes apart I can certainly understand most of the business rely and short staffing on Canada post so there are delays.

All, I am excited as just received my invitation to oath today and my oath ceremony is on 8th February 2020. Hope all the other members receive their invitations soon.
