    Spousal sponsorship

Hi there, Thank you for your response. So what is the step 2 for inland? Police certificates etc? I am on track with meeting my residency obligation as I have been in Canada since May 2013 and my 5 yr RO period ends in June 2015. I should be fine right? Cheers.

    Spousal sponsorship

Hi All, I submitted my application for spousal sponsorship in Canada in Sept 2014. I am the sponsor and my husband is the applicant. I have heard back from CIC today and they have asked me to send them proof of my residence (in the form of lease agreement, employment letter etc) by 24th Feb...

Travelling to Canada on a valid PR card, but not meeting 730 days rule

Thanks! Will look that up! Are you saying I should let all my money go? The ticket was CAD 1400 and because I could not cancel it in time, I have lost all that money. There is no loyalty to the airline whatsoever, but think it's still worth the effort for this kind of money.

Travelling to Canada on a valid PR card, but not meeting 730 days rule

Hi again, thank you very very much for your comments. You've been extremely helpful! Could you guide me to some online link owned by the CIC that I could show to the airline to prove them wrong?

Travelling to Canada on a valid PR card, but not meeting 730 days rule

Yes, we are trying to get in touch with the airline to get some sort of compensation. They are definitely not as approachable as we would like them to be. Also, does seem like my mom may face issues at the Canadian Immigration in Toronto (if she is able to fly), thanks to this whole fiasco.

Travelling to Canada on a valid PR card, but not meeting 730 days rule

Thank you for sharing your experience! Wish I had researched this before. Anyhow, now that this whole fiasco has happened, we are keen to go back to the airline and tell them they are wrong instead of booking a fresh ticket (we were not even able to cancel the ticket before the flight took off)...

Hi both, Thank you for your expert comments :), they are extremely valuable. Just a couple of more points from my side to shed more light: -Her PR Card was not taken away. She showed her PR card and the agent said that there is some new rule according to which she can travel on PR status only...

Travelling to Canada on a valid PR card, but not meeting 730 days rule

I just spoke with the local Airline staff at the Delhi Airport and have been informed that this is the Vienna Border Police that checks the travel documents for all passengers. Is this even possible?

Travelling to Canada on a valid PR card, but not meeting 730 days rule

Thanks again! I just spoke with the Airline customer care in Toronto and have been told to get a letter from the Canadian immigration department. Will this be easy to get? How long would they take to respond if I send them an email now? My mom has some connecting flights from Toronto, and I am...

Hi, My mother is a Canadian PR and has a valid PR card due to expire in June 2015. She has not been able to meet the 730 days rule as she has been in and out of Canada for the last 4 years and has been in the country for only about a couple of months in total. She last travelled to Canada in...

Transit Visa for travelling through UK from Canada to India and vice-versa

It's not about the time. 2 hours are definitely enuough to switch planes. Especially if you're flying the same airline. My concern is more with UK direct airside transit visa. If this needs to be taken before flying out, then info around it is required. Anyhow, after conversations with few...

    Spousal sponsorship

Hi All, I applied for my husband's PR about 2 weeks ago from Canada. I have confirmation that the package was received at Vegreville 2 days later. However, I haven't heard back from CIC, and have no application number to check the status with. Is this common? What should expect as the next step...

Hi, Thank you soo much for your prompt response! The link you shared is very helpful. Exceptions to the 730 days rule

Hi, I received my PR status in June 2010 and landed in Canada for a week and went back to India. I have now moved to Canada since May 2013 and intend to stay here until June 2015 in order to maintain my PR status. As per some of the exceptions to the 730 days rule, under the Canadian business...
