    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

What sort of questions were asked? Are they super specific related to dates and historically important people, or are they more related to geography and the structure of governance?

AOR Received, but Maiden Name used in Email

That's great to hear - I think the best course of action remains to contact them and advise them regardless.

i want to go to canada and marry maxim

This is heart-breaking and wrong on so many levels. Marriage takes commitment, and this is the text-book case of how our values as a society are too "me"-centered now.

Thanks for the update, would you have the link where the form is located?

AOR Received, but Maiden Name used in Email

Her PR reflects her married name, and has so from the start. Even her first passport was issued on her married name, so this is why it is slightly disconcerting to receive the email addressed to her maiden name.

AOR Received, but Maiden Name used in Email

Hello Fellow Travelers! My wife just got her AOR in the email, but we're concerned that IRCC used her maiden name to address her in the email versus her name-after-marriage. We have been trying to contact IRCC on their helpline, but have not been able to get through. Our concern is that they're...

    AOR by email

I know, which is why it kind of threw me off when I started seeing people commenting on having received AOR eventhough the initial timeline was 30-40 days from IRCC's receipt (which for me was Oct 16th).

    AOR by email

Is ECAS being updated when people get their AOR? Any idea on that?

    AOR by email

I have white-listed the CIC domain now, although that doesn't preclude the possibility that a potential AOR notification was deleted in the past. Checking ECAS is doing nothing for me either, since it's unable to find anything using my Client ID # and other details. To me this seems like a case...

    AOR by email

Thank you for the help - this was very useful! I have white-listed the CIC domain now. Let's hope the AOR wasn't deleted from previous SPAM folder erasures. Going to check the Status Update / ECAS system to see if there has been any update.

    AOR by email

Good Afternoon, From my understanding, if you have submitted an email address with the Citizenship application the AOR will be emailed to you by IRCC. If that is indeed the case, how do we make sure that that specific email doesn't end up in the SPAM filter? I get hundreds of SPAM emails a day...

    Citizenhip Application Refused

From what I have read, you only get refunded the $100 portion that belongs to the "Right to Citizenship" fee. The other portion ($530) relates to the processing fee, which is forfeited since the application was in fact processed and you were found to be ineligible.

Citizenship Pictures - Forgot to print names on the back of the photos

From the replies I have read, it seems that the bigger issue is if you forgot to get the stamp from the photographer versus forgetting to put your name. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed on this and wait for the AOR (hopefully).

Citizenship Pictures - Forgot to print names on the back of the photos

That's my theory as well. I suspect the same applies if you apply with your opposite-gender spouse.

Citizenship Pictures - Forgot to print names on the back of the photos

I would suggest having the second photo restamped as well. Print your name on both.

    Changing home address

I would personally suggest filling in your application with the residential address put as the one in Regina since that is where your driver's license, etc will be pointing towards. You can however put in a separate/different mailing address, perhaps a friend's, etc, that will be more permanent.

Citizenship Pictures - Forgot to print names on the back of the photos

Sorry, just went through the thread and saw the outcome. Hopefully some kindred spirit at IRCC will print our names on the back of the photographs since the photographer's information is all there. In the meantime, I will update this thread if I get an AOR. Here's to hoping!

Citizenship Pictures - Forgot to print names on the back of the photos

To clarify: the photos were stamped with the requirements on the photographer's side, i.e. name and address of the photographing agency as well as the date stamp. It's just that I forgot to print our (i.e. the applicants') names on the back of the photographs. Would you have any insight from...
