She did get an answer by submitting webform, that is surprising. Does this mean that IRCC has resumed normal webform service instead of ignoring all non-urgent requests?

Technically, you can do this by changing your address. However, some applicants reported that the process of transferring the file can take months.

I was never asked for a fingerprint. Maybe it differs for people who need/need not submit fingerprints. Anyways, I don't know why only some applicants are asked for fingerprints.

I'm not sure whether all BG checks are visible in GCMS. I ordered GCMS this summer, and the only thing that looks like a BG check dates back to Feb 2020. Nothing has a date around Feb 2021.

May I know whether you are waiting for DM or oath? I found this reply rather hard to interpret even though I know every word... "It takes 26 months", so it seems that they do have a queue and know *exactly* when the next step will happen. I believe this is news to us.

If most Canadians indeed feel that way, they feel it because of unawareness of unpredictable and long processing times. The feeling is not a well informed belief.
