I guess normal is 1 month, if they dont find any issue in upfront exam report. If they do find then they ask for additional test. But never heard its suddenly passed after 9 months. Congrats... Are other items still under process.

I do not think it is related to your work permit expiry date. The requirement is that the Job offer (the offer) should be valid for 1 yr from date of PR.

I got the same letter. Companies usually do give such letter. The Point to understand is that tgey are asking to confirm that the 'job offer' will be valid for 1 year. The HR may mention that it is subject to your performance of job duties.
