based on personal experience, the best approach is to go to a third-party FP agency. IRCC received and updated my online account exactly 15 days after I submitted my FP.

yeah. nothing on the portal. Interesting that the second window is Nov 25-Dec 5. that's just 11 days.

My portal has the FP request update since the day after I got the email. Just received test invite email today which I'll be attempting from outside Canada in December.

the agency I got it done from said 3-4 weeks overall. They upload it on the RCMP server the same day. RCMP takes about 3 business days to get it verified and then they unfortunately send it to IRCC via snail mail. IRCC then takes maybe 2-3 weeks to update it.

if you got the email today, your account should be updated tomorrow or day after. Same happened with me. Nothing for 5-6 days after GU2. Then email for FP and account updated the next day. Find it weird how they are sending out FP requests galore now.

seems you get FP requests either from Sydney, NS or Vancouver. Most of us seem to have gotten it from Vancouver.
