Does the CANXXXXXX number share any numbers with the UCI you got after PPR? I know it's usually CAN0000XXXXXXXX. It seems that nowadays you get this CAN UCI number after ITA. In my case, I never had one. I...
You can close your accounts after you leave, at least that's what ENBD told me. You mail them an account closure form with a copy of your ID and exit stamp and they should close it. I haven't personally done it, so can't say if it actually works. Best thing is to speak to your bank.
It's more of an issue keeping loose ends in Dubai. Bank accounts can accrue fees, which if left unchecked, may lead to a criminal case being filed against the account holder, albeit that's in extreme cases. People can go to jail in UAE for money matters.
I transferred USD only. Fees were around $50-75 for something like $50k. I don't remember the exact amount, but all I remember is that it was worth making a big transfer as fees were unchanged. I don't remember that there was a limit, but again I'm not talking about millions or anything lol.
I didn't really compare banks, to be honest. I just went with TD because it's what family and friends used. Looking back, I would've still gone with TD. It's been 2 years and I've had no issues. My only complaint is that the type of CAD account I opted for requires me to maintain a balance of...
My apologies, I mixed up your reply with the other person's and thought you were repeating the same question that I answered before.
In a nutshell, if your job is regulated, then you definitely need relevant education. You cannot become a physician without the right training and education, for...
I'm sure a lot did if you search the forum. If you read my replies in this thread, you will see that I got my PR under NOC 5241 with a different education background.
You can go ahead and apply.
You should be fine. Your job is not regulated, so it doesn't require formal education really. Work experience has a much bigger weight and 7 years is a lot of experience.
A lot of people did. I posted about this if you check the previous pages of this thread. It would be better if you post your question so that we can better help you.
Experience letters are the main requirement, but I also attached:
- Promotion letters for some of the jobs
- A few pages of my employment contract for some of the jobs
- Managers' business cards
- Work visas showing employer names
- Extracts from my bank statements that showed salary deposits
-...
This is a grey area. You will not find a clear answer regarding this topic I'm afraid, because what may have worked for someone, may cause you trouble down the road.
When you submit an application for provincial nomination, I believe you declare an intention of living there. Changing that...
Quality of work can have different meanings. Are we talking about how advanced companies here are or is it compensation that you're referring to?
Canada is pretty good in the technology and startup scene. The bar is very close to the US and certainly higher than India, but you gotta keep in...
In my case, it was the easiest way I could think of to transfer my money from Dubai before closing my Dubai bank account. I only did a soft landing to open a Canadian bank account. Made my life much easier when I was able to wire money from Dubai. Leaving financial ties in UAE as a former expat...
If you did soft landing and only stayed for a few weeks, and don't owe taxes on Canadian income, then don't bother filing a return. No body will come after you, especially since you're a fresh PR. When you move to Canada, you must file taxes though.
It's a lot easier for Software Developers to find work than say Engineers, Lawyers, HR personnel—basically, jobs that require familiarity with Canadian rules and regulations. In your case, it doesn't really matter if you have Canadian experience if you can get work done. If you're good at what...
