    Car Insurance for American Husband?

I'm afraid I'm not of much use since we added my wife as a secondary driver to my insurance when she came for her extended visit. One thing we did run into was the insurance company wanted a five year driver's abstract and twelve years of insurance history from her before they would recognize...

I swear, CPC-Ottawa only seems to move when they are prompted. I sent a change of address request on November 2. After a month, eCAS still hadn't updated to show the new address. When the system updated to "Decision Made" on December 3, I got really nervous so I fired them an email asking to...

    2015 April-Outland spousal application

One step closer! So, the last month has been an interesting one. December 3: eCAS updated to show "Decision Made" December 23: Emailed CIC to see if COPR had been mailed as nothing had shown up in our mailbox December 30: Email from CIC stating that our COPR had been "mailed again" on...

Called the Call Centre to ask about the status of our COPR, seeing as how it has been three weeks since eCAS went to DM and we haven't seen anything. The fella was friendly but basically gave me no information whatsoever. "Well, I can't see the decision but I imagine they're just preparing the...

When we applied for my wife's Alberta Health, it only took a few days. That was in November.

Now at 18 days since eCAS went to DM. Only thing that has happened so far was they finally updated eCAS to show my wife's mailing address here in Canada instead of her US address. No COPR, no email asking for new photos, no fourth line in eCAS. Pure silence. :-X

    2015 April-Outland spousal application

We're newly DM'ed so our stress isn't that bad yet, but... I changed my wife's address to our Canadian address back at the start of November. eCAS never did change to reflect that so it still shows her US address. I called the call centre and talked to someone but I don't think she understood...

:D Decision Made today! :D Sure hope the address change we submitted at the beginning of November has taken effect because eCAS still shows my wife's US address, along with her maiden name. Hate to see the COPR get lost in the mail or have to send it back because she no longer has any ID with...

I am pleased to report that we also went to DM today. I was on our lunchtime Facetime call with my wife (she's stuck at home while I'm working) and she asked if I checked eCAS today. I told her I would do it right away and so she got to see my reaction when I said "Holy #^%$*(%$!!!!! It says...

Still waiting here. I'm down to only checking eCAS once a day now as the excitement I experienced when we went from Application Received to In Progress has long since faded, especially as we see people from May getting DM already. We've had no word from CIC since being part of the big batch...

I eagerly checked eCAS today hoping that with all the May applicants seeing DM that they might throw a [Thanksgiving turkey] bone to an April applicant, but no luck. :(

You likely do not need to wait for the PR card to arrive. My wife managed to get Alberta Health Care coverage using nothing more than a stamp in her passport. We went into a registry agent, filled out the application, they took a photocopy of her passport stamp, sent the application in for us...

    Calgary meetup on November 20th!

Perfect! Last question I was going to ask was how we were going to find each other but you had that covered already. :)

Did Anyone whose ECAS changed to 'In Process' on oct. 09th receive PPR or DM ??

Nothing for us. IP on the Oct. 9th, part of the big batch document request on Oct. 23, and nothing new since.

    2015 April-Outland spousal application

We filed our application about the same time as you. We went In Progress on October 9, were included in the large batch of generic document request emails that went out on October 23 (which I responded to on Nov. 2) and there has been nothing new to report since.

So, it's official, both my wife and I will be there. Looking forward to it.

The first question is tough to answer because so much depends on the border agent. Sure, everyone here says if you have an application in process that crossing over is pretty seamless, but there is always that chance that you get the guard having a bad day who just doesn't like you. We were...

So, the waiting process for me got a lot easier yesterday as my wife is now visiting me here in Canada until our application is complete. :D With her apartment lease expiring at the end of October, we decided it was time to do the long-term visit routine. I drive down to see her last week and...

I've been away for a bit (visiting my wife down in the US). We also were in the big batch email from October 23. Going to get some additional proof of residency docs together and also confirm to them everything else was submitted with the application.

I read that as your results need to be received before a decision will be made, not a decision is made once your medical results are received. As others stated, our eCAS showed Medical Rec'd (and our case notes showed the medical was passed) for weeks/months before our application ever even...
