OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

It was around a year, not sure if it was 8-10 months, or 9-12, but somewhere in there. I know because we assumed it would take 10-14 months total (with SA approval at 60 days...) And thank goodness it's down to 17! When I checked over Christmas it was 26!

Is Maiden Name on PCC acceptable or does it have to be Married Name?

I'm not entirely sure, but I would assume so long as you have included your marriage certificate, which will have her maiden name, you should be OK.

Got the immigration visa but still a few questions left!!

Right, sorry I meant CIC. So best to be honest and tell them he's on a return ticket, and we all plan to move out later in the year?

Got the immigration visa but still a few questions left!!

Awesome! To be honest, our main hold-up is the citizenship certificate for our son. We've no idea when that will come through.

Got the immigration visa but still a few questions left!!

My understanding was that he shouldn't leave the country before he has his PR card in hand and that CBSA frown upon people not staying. His landing would be temporary, since he'd come back to Australia and we'd return to Canada as a family 6ish months later. If you're saying it's shouldn't...

Got the immigration visa but still a few questions left!!

We are in a similar situation... Any idea on the sorts of questions you get asked by CBSA during the landing interview? My husband will be "landing" approx 6 months before we move out as a family, and he is worried about lying to border security.

big age difference, my wife much older

I would recommend statements from as many family and friends as possible who can vouch for the authenticity your relationship. Also include pictures of yourselves with the others family & friends. So long as you can show the relationship is legit, you should be ok.

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Me too! And I suspect others would be far more prepared. We are a pretty straightforward case; I was born in Canada, we have been married for a few years, have a child, and have never sponsored anyone. We also were processed through Sydney, AU which is known to be a quick office.

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Will do - thanks! I've no idea what we're going to do. He will have to "land" and fly back to us on 2 one-way tickets I think. We are truly not ready to arrive until this time next year. However, I think returning after 4-6 months won't be an issue. (My mom will courier is PR card to us in Oz.)...

Hubbie got his COPR email today, so less than 4 months all up. We are freaking out because we thought we'd have a bit more time, but are obviously very happy.

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi All... My husband got his COPR today! We are freaking out slightly as we did not expect it for several months and had hoped to move this time next year. Our son doesn't even have his citizenship (certificate) yet! Our application took less than 4 months total. :o Hoping some others got...

I'd assume the marriage would have to been deemed legal by a government body for Canada to honour it.

    Getting parents from Philippines

A quick google search will tell you that your parents may enter Canada on a tourist visa, irrespective of your status. If you're looking to sponsor them to come to Canada permanently, that is another story.
