Yeah switching fields might be a problem because they might think you're looking for any way possible to get into Canada so school is just a means to an end. Rather stick to your field, write a strong SOP for that then switch majors later on in your studies if you want. I'm sure there's no rule...

Well in canada they have the Post graduation work permit (PGWP) you can apply for that once you're about to graduate and if youre approved you have 3 more years in canada. Don't quote me on this but if you're lucky i think they might stamp a visa that expires a month or two after studies so you...
