These dates don't have much of significance. Each case is different. There are folks who applied after me and have gotten their PR. Just take a back seat and enjoy the free Buffalo ride. Mark

Hearty congratulations, beauhoe. Looks like the # of people getting the PR is on the rise. Keep us posted of new developments. And, good luck with the new life in Canada (as and when you begin). Mark

First off, if the address does not change, you don't need to inform. These days medical requests are coming off faster. Expect the medical 2-3 months after "In Process". You can complete the medicals from your home country. After medicals (if everything is alright with medicals), you will await...

Yep, that is true. However, the DMP also mentioned that many a times Ottawa can ask for further tests. Hence, keeping my fingers crossed.

One small update at my end: I completed my medicals today. No horror stories as some threads showcase. It went pretty smoothly and I was outta the GP's office in 2 hours. Yes, they ask ya to strip but it ain't bad at all. Hope that the medicals are sent out next week. Has anyone received some...

Thanks buddy. Wish ya luck too. There are quite a few who have completed medicals now and are in the final stage of getting further update from Buffalo. All eyes on the "finish mark" :) Mark

Congratulations on moving to the next stage. One more hurdle crossed means one less worry. If they have got your designation wrong, then I see no point in showcasing it unless it adds value to your case. I think your lawyer would be the best judge of your case in terms of sending further...

250K is the total # of immigrants in one particular year (approximation). I don't have the exact link but these statistics are from CIC website (somewhere there). Rest is all my deduction. Mark

As soon as your file goes to CIO, your information gets inputted there. All the CIO does it to make sure the check is enchased and that the documents "seemingly" are in order. You can't expect any input at CIO (Sydney) unless you have really screwed up the application for it to be obvious to...

What is of deep concern to me is the passport getting "stuck" with CIC after everything else is approved (hopefully). I keep traveling for work, hence anything more than a couple of weeks will be pretty hard to explain. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Mark

This case applies only if there are background & security checks pending, otherwise it does not take more than 3 months after medicals if everything in your documents is fine. Ask anyone of those whose PPR came after more than 3 months (provided that everything else was fine with his documents...

It could take anywhere from a few weeks to even a year or more after medicals to get your PPR (provided everything else works fine). I guess some folks are under the impression that if you are asked for medicals and RPRF, you are almost through. Personally, I think each stage in itself is a HUGE...

He got it in 2010. She refused to get fingerprinted or undergo medicals. I think he saw bright future in Canada while she saw it in USA. If two people don't agree, it makes no sense to pretend to be "together" [especially in their case]. In fact, she was more than happy to let him go. Mark

I know of a friend who had to divorce his wife in order to get his Canadian PR. She refused to undergo medicals and then Buffalo told him he can't immigrate unless he divorces his wife or she joins too. He chose the option of "divorce". Strange case, but nevertheless true. It was very agonizing...

Guess different people are having different experiences in their medical examination. I have read other posts too, and it seems some people are asked to remove clothing while some get lucky and don't need to do the same. Let us see what happens. Mark
