Agreed, I also just received a standard reply (your application is in process, we have delays due to covid etc) to my web form request with no additional details even though we applied almost a year ago in August.

Has anyone received any updates from Ankara visa office? If yes, please share when you applied. The last time I heard from them was early February... I have seen ppl in other forums who applied in September, 2020 from India etc and already arrived to Canada.

Didn't you provide a police certificate while applying? It should have been valid for 12 months.

That is so strange that they requested a rental agreement and T4. I believe a document checklist already has a requirement to provide an employment letter or recent notice of tax assessment to confirm sponsor's income when applying. Has your wife been previously living with you and just recently...

You will most likely receive more details in GCMS notes. They quiet often provide no confirmations of received additional documents. Your application is being delayed due to the same reasons as others- COVID. I hope you will get an update soon, but many visa offices currently process...

There are so many ways to make any large file smaller in size. Google it, see if YouTube advises help or ask an IT specialist. All of it would be better than risking to cause a confusion with your application which will result in delays.

Are there any applicants here who applied after March, 2020 and received pre arrival letter? People from other visa offices already have decision made status in less than 12 months. So wondering if there has been any progress in Ankara.

We can only speculate on how it started to get processed before being transferred to Shanghai. My guess is they opened your file looked at submission date and decided to send it up there by marking the processing to start from that point. You can try sending out a request via a web form and see...

Good that you received this information. I guess they do the same with some clogged visa offices in India. This is actually good news for all of us as it means the government started to do smth to return to normal processing times. Hope you will get your file finalized soon as I read Shanghai...

Have you received an AOR? If no, then call to CIC and ask them what is going on as absolutely no updates in 16 months is unheard of.

Not for spousal sponsorship. But you should have a quarantine plan (for a period after staying 3 days in a hotel) and enough funds to afford it if asked.

I saw an update on ECAS saying "we started processing your application on April 13, 2021". Do you guys know how much approximately I will need to wait starting from that date? Medical exam has been passed in February.

You can travel to Canada. But there are some steps you need to follow before traveling and after arriving. Google Canada travel requirements and see details provided on the government website. May I ask why your application took so long? Have you been required to provide any additional details...
