I think we're all pretty much at the same stage (background check). Some have needed to send extra RCMP fingerprints but other than that, it's been silent for a few months now.

    *******July 2018******* Inland Spousal Sponsorship

I don't think everyone has to do them, I believe it depends on what country you are applying from and whether or not your name is similar to someone who has a criminal record already in Canada (from what I've read in the online groups) I haven't received any requests yet, just a message update...

    *******July 2018******* Inland Spousal Sponsorship

They haven't asked me for anything else yet. I actually already have my finger prints done for the RCMP unintentionally though, since I got my FBI fingerprints digitally done at a Canadian police station and they accidentally sent them to RCMP when I just needed a print out of them (which...

You'll have to see if there is a way to request a report while she is abroad. If they require finger prints for it, you'll have to get them done in Canada and then mail them to her home country. Not much else you can do, it has to be done.

    OWP Medical Restrictions (Spousal Sponsorship)

It honestly depends on where you work. Some places will take a copy of the actual permit while others won't bother with it. I'm almost positive that in order to get paid, the business has to submit something in regards to the government to show proof that you are eligible to work that...

    *******July 2018******* Inland Spousal Sponsorship

You should NOT leave the country while on Implied Status. It is not technically a "legal" status therefore leaving the country while being on it is NOT going to help you get back in. It's a huge risk to leave the country even with an OWP since re-entry is never guaranteed. There isn't much you...

It's just an extra application/form potential residents of Quebec have to do.

    *******July 2018******* Inland Spousal Sponsorship

I'm confused... if you applied inland, you HAVE to stay INSIDE Canada. If both of you aren't living together in Canada then you are Outland. I'd assume that they've at least accepted your application into processing since it has been at least 4 months, otherwise your application would have been...

You need a SIN to be able to work regardless of what province you're in. You *must* have a SIN in order to be hired in Canada.

It can vary depending on the office so you'll have to call around and get quotes from the physicians. I believe it can range between $300 to $600 CAD. I just scheduled mine and it's $320.

    *******July 2018******* Inland Spousal Sponsorship

It's completely luck of the draw that some people got theirs approved ahead of time. Not everyone is guaranteed to be processed within 3 months... I'm sure there are a lot of people who are still waiting for their permit to be approved that aren't even on the forum. It's unfortunate and I...

    OWP Medical Restrictions (Spousal Sponsorship)

Hi! I'm looking to apply for a position as a retail pharmacy assistant but now I'm thinking I might not be able to do that... I was under the impression that I wouldn't need to get my medical done in order to lift the restrictions on my OWP since I don't technically work "hands on" with...

    *******July 2018******* Inland Spousal Sponsorship

You can start applying for jobs but you'll have to wait until you get the permit in the mail in order for anyone to actually hire you since you need to have a SIN generated. So once you get it in the mail, you have to go to Service Canada with the permit and your passport in order to get one...

    *******July 2018******* Inland Spousal Sponsorship

The OWP is handled completely separate from the PR application after they receive it. The next thing you should be hearing about is the OWP. Sponsor Approval doesn't come for a while, it's closer to the end of the process.

I wouldn't worry too much about it since it will most likely get approved in the next few days. The dates do jump around a little bit depending on what officer is working on it so I'm sure it'll get approved soon!
