I was thinking of this too. Can’t we just use our US credit cards and just take the usual 3% conversion fee? I don’t plan on using them a lot, but nice knowing I have a safety cushion. I’ll probably keep at least one US checking account I think.

Funny because I am always looking at yours for guidance! Seem to be on identical timelines so far. So that means when you get your PPR soon, I'll just plan for 15 days later haha. I'm usually quiet in the forum, but always reading the thread. :) Just moved into IP2 today and overall timeline...

I must be the only one where my wife actually increased my score. 416 if I were single, 443 as married (draw cutoff was 441 when selected). No relatives in Canada or work experience in Canada. Must be because of her age, education, and highest IELTS.

    Vancouver vs Calgary?

Thanks for the insight! No kids, both my wife and I are college educated young professionals. Just scared to hell when we look at rent prices in Vancouver. We also have a dog that makes the search seem harder. Overall, heart wants Vancouver, gut says play it “safe” and settle in Calgary. Both...

    Vancouver vs Calgary?

Hello all, While we await PR status (June AoR), we are trying to research pros and cons of living/working in Vancouver and Calgary. There are the obvious ones (cost of living, climate), but when it comes to day to day details, we don’t really have any friends in Canada to ask. For those who...

Just a personal preference. Nothing wrong with United States at all and very grateful, just feel like a better fit in Canada on almost all fronts.
