by letter he means email, there is an electronic letter inside CIC email so...but i think CIC mostly only sends emails, much faster than actually paper Canada Post mails use gmail as your communication email with CIC...then add "@cic.gc.ca" to your contact or "trusted list" so it doesn't get...

I think what you received is a AOR...it really means nothing unfortunately...it might be months before you hear from them again...lets be patient and wait

The sponsor received SA when I got the medical request (no AIP though...) Does this AOR means our apps have been given to a new officer? From other people's response it appears that the second AOR really doesn't mean anything but lately any email sent from CIC can get me excited for hours...

same here...sponsor received AOR back in February and I (the principal applicant) just received another AOR today...The second AOR is different (in PDF attachment, unlike the plain text email for the first AOR) upon examining the spreadhseet...it appeared second AOR is not a good thing...mostly...

I did my medical exam on the 18th too. Still waiting for eCAS, my clinic told me it takes 2 month for CIC to acknowledge it...on the spreadsheet I say you will hear from CIC after 6-8 weeks (AIP/DM or interview)

Based on the spreadsheet I will say about 6-8 weeks later you might get AIP/DM. My clinic's website said normally it will take the medical branch at CIC 2 months to process your medical exam

work permit is the legal document you need to remain in Canada legally I believe.
