Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

We got the AOR on November 27 and got the email for the CSQ on November 29. I think it's somewhat random the timing of that, though, and was worried they had sent the message in error at first. Since you got your AOR around the holidays it probably slows it down a bit too.

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Hmm, I don't seem to have that specific line. I only see PCC and Schedule A listed there. Perhaps it will appear once they are notified by MIDI of the CSQ acceptance?

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

I just received my CSQ. It says that they transmit the acceptance directly to the IRCC office handling the case. Do I need to upload the CSQ anywhere or is it all set?

US Police Clearance: FBI Processing Times

I got my AOR November 27 and I mailed my prints to the FBI (whose website now says 14-16 weeks for certificates!) the next day. That means I probably won't get the results until April. Will this significantly delay the process, or will they work on other parts of the application before needing...

    Address History

I have a similar situation. In Canada on a study permit with my permanent address here, but I was away in the US for a student internship from June-August (just less than 2 months). Should I put my Canadian address, then my internship address, then again my Canadian address that I returned to...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

For anyone having trouble linking their application to their online account, you should use the "Report a technical issue" option on the website. I tried to link for 3 days and it never worked, so I messaged them. Initially they gave me the generic responses but said I could send them all of the...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

I just got my AOR and tried the maximum number of times as well and failed, including setting number of applicants to 2 instead of 1. Additionally, my city/town of birth on my application was entered with both my City and State of birth. I tried just using the city and that didn't work either...

Form won't validate if guide is followed (IMM 1344)

We are working on an application for common law sponsorship (inland). When filling out IMM 1344 - Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking, Question 6c asks "(If you are in a conjugal relationship) provide the date on which you entered into that relationship." I assumed...

    Common-law 12 month requirement question

I have seen one case where this seems to have been the case (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/sponsorship-rejection-advice-needed.245006/) - perhaps it's a rarity, but if they deem we haven't cohabited 12 months and thus are not common law in their eyes...

    Common-law 12 month requirement question

Thanks, good luck to you too! It's definitely tricky and unfortunate it seems to be applied so strictly. When I accepted my internship back in March we hadn't fully considered spousal sponsorship so didn't know about the 12 month rule, and obviously you couldn't predict your illness. Hopefully...

    Common-law 12 month requirement question

Thanks for your response, good to know. One final thing I forgot to mention - my partner visited me at my internship location in the US from 30 June to 1 July and stayed with me there for the weekend. Technically, we weren't physically apart for more than two weeks at any time during that year...

    Common-law 12 month requirement question

I don't *think* I had any mail to that address. We have had a joint bank account since March 2016, which we used for joint grocery expenses since that time (while we weren't technically cohabiting we were still having dinner together on most nights so most of our food expenses were joint.

    Common-law 12 month requirement question

Yeah, that makes sense - thank you. One more option - my partner's roommate moved away around June 1, 2016 for an internship in Ottawa. At that time, I moved in with my partner at their place. Technically, I still had my own lease and my own apartment but I was not physically living there, only...

    Common-law 12 month requirement question

Thanks for the reply. Considering that July 1 2016 to June 18 2017 was 11.5 months, and in the July 1 2016 to July 1 2017 period there was only that 2 week break at the end, you still think they wouldn't consider that common law?

    Common-law 12 month requirement question

Hi there, We've prepared the documents for my common-law spouse to sponsor me, but I want to get your opinions on one thing. We moved in together on 1 July 2016. I am doing a PhD in Canada, and have only been apart for a few conferences (1-2 weeks at a time) since then. On 18 June 2017 I went...

    Letters from friends/relatives necessary?

Hi everyone, I'm an American planning to apply for sponsorship by my common-law partner in Quebec (inland - I'm here on a study permit). I see on the document checklist it says to provide at least 2 of: Important documents showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as...
