Travelling by plane after PR without a PR card?

That's what I'm thinking, but I'm not sure if there may be a problem with all commercial vehicles, bus included, or if it's just for airlines. I'm anyway pretty positive that the bus drivers won't be checking if the eTA is valid.

Travelling by plane after PR without a PR card?

I don't think I can get a Travel Document if I'm inside Canada. I could still give the address of a friend in the US, but on the application they explicitly ask when was last time I was in Canada. Do you think the airlines do actually check the validity of the eTA? or they just want to see you...

Travelling by plane after PR without a PR card?

Yeah, I was thinking about doing something like that, but I don't drive. Are commercial buses ok for travelling without PR card? Has anybody managed to travel without PR Card?

Passports to CPC Ottawa Dec 2017

Thanks. Mine was an inland application. I didn't specify because I assumed that the applications sent to Ottawa are all inland, but I guess it may not be the case.

Travelling by plane after PR without a PR card?

Hi, today I just landed and officialized my status as a permanent resident (I was already in Canada on a work permit). The officer at the border, however, told me that until I get the PR card I can't travel by plane, but only by car/bus through the border. This because the COPR, while it's...

Steps after getting COPR - where and when to land

I got my COPR today, and landed today as soon as I got it. In the end, I did go to Point Roberts with public transportation. It was easy, cheap, and there was no line. It took me less than 4 hours from downtown Vancouver to go, do the paperwork, and go back.

Settling in Quebec, although not Province Nominee?

I may be in a very similar situation, with the difference that I don't speak French, other than a few basic things. Actually, I think my situation will be very similar to deadbird's as I may have to move to the US for a few months before going back to Canada. Good to know that you didn't face...

Steps after getting COPR - where and when to land

I was googling a bit, and both on this and other forums I have read about somebody saying that they were able to do their landing at Point Roberts. While it would be pretty quick to do everything there (no traffic and no crowd), I only fear the officers there may not be very good at doing...

Steps after getting COPR - where and when to land

Do you know if Point Roberts is an option too? I don't drive, and it seems the easiest one to reach with a bus from the city. However, since it's not a major entry point, I was wondering if they can process my immigration papers over there as well.

Steps after getting COPR - where and when to land

Hi, I already live in Canada, and I just got my PR approved on IRCC website. I am waiting for my COPR to arrive in the mail in the next few days. I believe the next step that is required after I get the COPR is the official landing. I've been told by IRCC customer service that for the landing...

Moving to Quebec as a Permanent Resident without CSQ

I didn't get my PR card yet thou, should I at least wait to receive my PR card, or is it not necessary? I believe that once landing is completed, I am officially a permanent resident, whether or not I have my PR card. I'm just wondering if they would ever send the PR card to a Quebec address thou.

    Company Name & Title Change

Did you get any document to officialize your change of job title and the change of company name? E.g., even if the company is the same, did you get a different offer letter or even just a document to notify the change of job title? I don't know if there is an official answer to this, but if this...

    PPR to CORP timeline

I'm not aware of any way to ask for urgent processing. If you are currently living in Canada and you have an actual urgent need to go abroad, you can try to call IRCC and ask if there is a way the process can be expedited as you need your passport for a valid reason. Even if you don't live in...

Moving to Quebec as a Permanent Resident without CSQ

Hi, I just got my PR approved through the regular Canadian immigration process. I currently live in BC where I have been living for 2 years with a regular work permit. A company from Montreal contacted me for a job opportunity there, and while my initial intention was to keep living in BC (or...

Waiting for COPR - what to expect if I'm from a visa exempt country?

Just to let you guys know, if anybody is interested, I got notified about my PR approval last night, Jan 6 - around 8pm Pacific Time (I'm in BC), which is pretty weird in terms of time and day (a Saturday night). In Ottawa, at that time it was 11pm Eastern Time. Somebody must have been working...

FBI PCC: Self fingerprinting - ink advice

If you can, I would personally suggest you go to a place specialized in getting fingerprints for the FBI. I'm pretty sure you can find some of them around the world. If you take your fingerprints incorrectly, you risk getting your FBI PCC application rejected. Since the application process is...
