Yea tech salaries in Canada are higher than most parts of EU. Want me to show you proof? Check out salaries from Microsoft in Tonronto vs in Berlin you’ll know. They adjust the salaries based on the local market so it should be pretty accurate (HRs in those big tech companies know better than us)

There is definitely more emphasis on diversity and inclusion among US companies than Canadian counterparts. Like we don’t even use the word “whitelist” “blacklist” anymore instead it’s “allowlist” and “blocklist”

One good thing about Canada is that the salaries in tech are going up pretty quickly (not as fast as the US though). It’s hard to find enough tech people in the US now (thanks to Covid). Salaries here are still much better than EU except for Switzerland and Israel.

Be careful what you wish for. I was longing of coming here when I was in the US too. Have you lived in Canada before? I think a person who lived in both countries for years might be a better judge.

Oh don’t even get me started on the healthcare part. If you wanna see a doctor, do expect 4-6 months of wait. In the US if you have a half decent job the expenses will be covered by health insurances, just pay you maximum 1000$ deductible. I am pretty sure you can save the 1000$ you spend on...

Canada doesn’t have that many high paying office jobs, they need more cheap labor, care takers, plumbers etc. The only high paying foreigners they really need are doctors and software engineers.

My current employer trynna low ball me hard in the US just cuz I’m on L-1, I kinda refuse to be the victim. I’ll wait until April to see if BOWP comes down or not, cash out my yearly RSU stocks and gtfo of this soul sucking company.

Yea but the new company pays * 1.5 than the job in the USA. I’ll wait until April if BOWP doesn’t come down I’m out.

36 months how? Last October the time was 20.4 months. If you add 12 months on top of that, that’s not 36 months. How about PNP?
