That is interesting.

It could probably be because they send out the passports in batches. For example, they could be sending out passports after a certain number have been stamped. That's the only possible reason that comes to mind.

Congratulations!! For the rest of you, hang in there and you'll be there soon....just to update you guys on my status, I submitted my passport for stamping on the 13th and still waiting for an update from the Embassy

Looks like there is no correlation between the speed of getting back your stamped passport and the passport delivery method chosen. Only the Embassy people can probably tell us about the exact process.

The visa expiration date is mentioned on the CoPR letter, and not the PPR letter. Generally, the last day to land is from one year since you did your medicals. You should be fine as long as you did your medicals after Jan 2017

The CoPR letter would be sent together with the passport. In fact, as stated by the VFS employee, this is the reason why stamping a visa sticker for PR takes insanely longer than a normal visa...the reason being they have to prepare the CoPR letter!!

I can see two new updates of people who've got their passports back within the last two days. Let us hope that they have started to focus on clearing the backlog and we can hope for a shower of sorts from the visa stamping department now.

I have heard that for the first time. It seems highly unlikely that you would be able to retrieve your passport from VFS while the processing is going on. However, just in case you are able to retrieve yours then please do let us know.

I hate to break this to you, but there is a very slim chance that you would get your passport back before Eid, especially looking at the recent trends. There seems to be no way to fast track this or even approach the Embassy for an update, so the only thing you can do is wait. I have also...

What I would be interested to know here is: are the passports processed and stamped in the same order as they are received by the Embassy or is there a different pattern to the process. Like, does it also depend on the date of PPR, nationality, or something else possibly...any idea about this?

Well, ideally if it takes so long for them to stamp the passport then they should just prepare the visa sticker and CoPR document, and once all that is ready then ask the applicant to come to Abu Dhabi (or send the passport by mail if applicant is unable to come in person). This way, they can...

Yes, a month seems like a lifetime, especially when you are parted with your passport Precisely. And that is what worries me the most.
