Guys the processing time is changed to 18 months now.... God knows how many years will we have to wait why did they do this if their goal was to decrease the processing time??

try first as a visitor visa but should be atleast of more than six months. once you get that come to canada and apply for open work permit on aor basis. I think you should have no problem. but you should have a permit to canada which is more than 6 months 8 is also fine.

Why dont you apply for open work permit on federal basis.. i guess you can come here and then work.

You just need to send passport copy to federal. I did it through web form. Or contact cic for how to give an update on renewal of passport. they can tell you.Otherwise i dont think you need to give passport copy to MIDI.
