This is what I was told as well originally, then called again and was told it's in progress. I strongly believe if background verifications have been triggered it might mean you're in security screening.

This is not a good idea. Booking your flight with the hope that something is going to happen. Cancellation fees are quite high for most flights.

Thanks. It's similar to mine, but my AOR is two weeks behind you. Fingers crossed

It's not been easy. For a while I thought I was in "Review Required". But I'm just as oblivious of my status today as AOR day.

Congrats!! Did you get any ghost update? Submitted ADR? Did you call IRCC and what response did you get?

I don't think call center agents know very much about the exact nature of the file. Granted, they know a bit more, but I feel their role is more about allaying anxieties

I have this concern as well. I've also never seen any ghost update on my file since medicals/biometrics. As to our similar concern as to what happens to review required over time, I think it'll get cleared, except it's something really off. Just my thought.,

Same boat as you, AOR is one day earlier, and only update was MEP and BIL. Emailed Ottawa office and was told "your application is in queue for review by an officer" I have no idea what that means

Aren't "Background Verifications" IRCC lingo for security screening?

Also, the 80% in 6 months number is not a statement of fact, it's more along the lines of "We hope to complete 80% of PR applications in 6 months". For those complaining about Canada's Immigration System, I'd just go ahead and claim its the best in the world. USA will delay/deny an EB or H1B...

Don't freeze your life, IRCC didn't ask you to go into stasis, etc. Logically speaking, can you commit to a 5 year agreement on a house or anything while waiting for PPR? Nobody is saying they are idle, we can't commit long term to anything because PPR can come anytime, so there's no breech of...

Folks usually have PCCs expiring in about 3-6 months, so it makes sense for IRCC to review them first.

How do you guys get more information from calling cic? When I call them all I get is basically an echo of what my cic account reflects. E.g. Me: I'm calling to find out the status of my eligibility Agent: Everything looks OK your eligibility is in process.

Same here. Similar ITA AOR+1day MEP+1day. No update at all, just silence.
