yes., any point changing to not needed at the time, usually ends with application closing. You have two options 1. send a cse poitning that they have made a mistake , and that you never withdrew your application - they will reopen your application but it will most likely take them a long time...

agree to that. everyone that gets rejected due to wrong assessment cic made, and can offer some evidence to support this in the cse, will get their applications reopened

this sometimes happenes when your application encounters problems. Assuming this is not just a mistake in your file, Medical switching from in progress to not needed might mean your application will be refused. Did your medial hit the passed stage at any point?
