SINP reckons with complete years of work experience. In the case of a gap in years, you do a letter of explanation.

Don't be scared. Get it and it won't be a waste. Send it with an explanation letter. I come to know that these people realize the peculiarities of outside countries.

I am of the opinion that you are correct. However, where you are in doubt you can send a mail to sinp customer care for clarification. I insist that was exactly what i did in my case and there was no questioning.
