    Allowed to leave Canada

Rather odd, a few things seem confusing... why did you not appear at the officers booth together as couple? I have never seen couples split up when waiting in line to be processed for immigration at any entry point into Canada I have ever been. Usually couples and families are processed together...

International Students wanting to enter Canada during Covid, Important change!!!

bump - anyone traveled with their study permit approved after March 18 and could enter Canada? I got the "essential travel" part covered but am still too chicken to go through the US just to be refused at the Canadian border to give it a try even though air tickets HK -> Seattle are pretty...

Landed safe from Italy. Smooth border clearance.

Loved your reasoning behind how you booked the quarantine hotel. I am thinking of doing the exact same. Thanks for sharing your experience

Pending DUI charges from 2018 and study permit renewal

Well, you got the opinions and thoughts of a pretty kind forum member. I have also a friend who was impacted by DUI, unfortunately on the other end of the stick. It is great that you show compassion for your friend, but it would also have been nice if you showed equal compassion for the...

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

I am German and live in Hong Kong. You are right, I should have been more precise. The US currently does not allow those to enter the US who stayed in certain countries over the past 14 days. Regardless of citizenship.

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

Yes the passport gets stamped at the port of entry of course but not prior. Yes, I thought of this duration minimum term as well though at the moment its strangely missing.

International Students wanting to enter Canada during Covid, Important change!!!

Well I want to avoid costly mistakes such as flying half around the world only to be refused at entry to Canada. That's why I raised the question to see whether anyone else has done so or whether my English comprehension is letting me down...

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

I am not aware that any international students get a stamp in their passport prior to arrival. International students receive an online document on the CIC online platform which they need to print out and hand in at immigration when they enter Canada. Only then will students receive their study...

International Students wanting to enter Canada during Covid, Important change!!!

Hong Kong is specially exempt from the travel restriction into the US (though travel from mainland China is currently not permitted) and a flight from Hong Kong via Vancouver transit, meaning not entering Canada at that point but simply transiting, to Seattle is cheaper than the same flight but...

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

That's not how it works. To get the study permit one must first enter Canada with the study permit approval letter. Only then one will be handed the study permit. I try to avoid flying around the globe only to find out that my entry is COVID restricted. Hence my question about entering from the...

International Students wanting to enter Canada during Covid, Important change!!!

That is my understanding of the wording. But it makes me still wonder because in this case would not any foreign national who can enter the US not just do exactly that and then cross the border into Canada while flying into Canada would not be allowed for anyone whose study permit has been...

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

So what you are saying is that you believe "coming from the US" refers to Americans or non Americans who have lived in the US and cross into Canada? But then why would the Canadian border services not specifically say that? Instead it just states "foreign nationals coming from the US..."

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

So, what does "come from the United States" then mean? Can I as German citizen fly from Hongkong via Vancouver (transit only) to Seattle then rent a car and drive to the Canadian border and get my study permit and proceed to my quarantine place? Let's ignore whether I can or cannot enter the US...

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

You may be misunderstanding the situation perhaps? I do not have a valid study permit. I was approved for a study permit after March 18. But that is aside the point. My question is specifically about anyone who enters Canada coming from the US. The above government link clearly does not...

Applied in August for Fall(September) Intake.

Your study permit might get approved in time but how do you plan on entering Canada? Unless you enter through the US (which I am actually not 100% sure of is possible) you can't currently enter Canada as your permit will clearly be approved post March 18. Hence, why the hurry re study permit?
