Hi, Yes, my husband had an interview last October and was given it right away. He is from Algeria. He has yet to land because we are waiting for his army exemption; he is still on the army list at airport...:( Good luck to all!!!

Thank you for the advice, but it does not work that way. Canadian government does not care about the military rules of another country, and that is why he was approved with or without the card/exemption. It is the military who will 100% stop him at the airport in Algeria. They will refuse to...

Unfortunately, he has had the visa since October, and is still not able to come; we are waiting for the exemption paper from the army (mandatory to do service in Algeria)...They said 2 months, and now said another two months. I am so stressed because the visa will expire in a couple of months...

So sorry for the delay! VO asked how and when we met, how it evolved, about how his family felt about how they felt about him wanting to marry a non-muslim, a non-algerian - btw, his parents, especially his mom, were not happy at first, but when he told them how I am, my beliefs, values, etc...

Wow, can't believe I am even defending them, lolol, but whenever I call government agencies, I have not trouble getting an english-speaking person, including the MICC...It also depends on when you call during the day....Good luck to all!!

No, not yet...we are still waiting for his exemption paper from the army...Praying he can come in December....

It should say on website, if not, you can call them. You can even call when it is almost due and they will give you answer on the phone (only MICC). Good luck!
