Yikes! Given the short turn-around time, it looks like this process might be nearing the end. They just want to see what your husband has been up to since you submitted the application. Good luck and I hope this is almost over for you guys!

Visitor Visa Extension to qualify Common-Law?!

That's right, he can stay with you in Canada while you process outland. Seeing that he has a multiple visitor visa this will come in handy if he needs to go to Mexico to get police checks, etc. This can also be done if he has family or friends in Mexico, too, but all of this seems less...

I love it! That is truly a great story. Have you had any news from your MP about the application?

Visitor Visa Extension to qualify Common-Law?!

I can partially help you with this, I sponsored my common-law partner from Mexico. We were able to qualify as common-law partners by extending his stay in Canada. The only difference to your situation is that he did not have a multiple entry visa as he arrived in Canada 2 or 3 days before the...

I know, I wonder who gets to work in Port of Spain? Pretty great location! I just imagine a warehouse on the beach full of medical exams.

You do not need an RCMP clearance unless immigration specifically asks for it. Just send the state certificates and the certificates for any other country the applicant has lived in for more than 6 months (not including Canada). Do the medical exam before, don't worry about it getting...

Thanks! I believe that would be the case, when I asked what it was called, he just said the paper visa that is stuck in the passport. If you are not a PR you can use the B1/B2 card at the northern border.

Here is some information about landing when the applicant is already in Canada applying outland. When we got to the border, the border guards entering the US, made us flagpole, meaning they refused him entry and we were sent back to Canada. We had planned to go for a day trip to the states but...

Don't worry, I totally freaked out about this, too. We sent ours in the beginning of June, arriving June 6th in Mexico City. It was on its way back to Canada on June 29th. So, I think it is 2 weeks to put the visa in and 2 weeks to start sending it back. I hope this helps!

Yes, it does say decision made but it only changed about a week and a half ago! There is a definite delay, nothing in real time. We did get a phantom e-cas tracker e-mail saying something had changed on e-cas on Thursday. Nothing had changed, it was one of those behind the scenes changes that...

It will be July! I know it! Today, we received the passport back with the visa in it! Yay! The turn-around time for sending the passport via UPS from Canada (if anyone finds themselves in a similar situation very soon) was: June 6th the passport arrived at the embassy June 29th the...

Nutty! When my partner came to Canada in 2009, the person he travelled with was asked to unbutton his shirt to show them if he had any tattoos on his chest and neck when they went through immigration in Calgary. I think they are looking for gang/narco-associated tattoos/symbols.

Yes, let's do it, I like Luxalune! I will send you my e-mail address in your inbox. I am pretty much just waiting for you to hear about the passport request and then I hope I stop skulking around this forum.

I have been fortunate enough to regain most (maybe one day all of it) of my logical self, let me know if I can be of assistance. It is not possible to take a break, scouring the internet for any shred of applicable information on immigration from Mexico gives something for your mind to do...

Nope, no decision made, but last weekend the medicals received showed up, that was from medicals that were completed in the beginning of April. After the police certificates the next contact was PPR. I remember scouring for information about the course of events as well, do interviews follow...
