How to get essential items/documents in BC, if they all seem to require already having each other?

Yep. I called them, and this is what they said. They said that once that is provided, they may be able to check driving records of certain other countries, and then you take a vision test and a road signs test, and you'll get a temp licence. Just an FYI to anyone else who's googling around...

How to get essential items/documents in BC, if they all seem to require already having each other?

Hmm, I have IMM 5688. Does that mean new PRs have to wait until they receive their PR cards to get even a temp licence?

How to get essential items/documents in BC, if they all seem to require already having each other?

I've finally landed as a PR and am now living in Canada, but I'm confused about a few things: 1) I landed 10 days ago, and I still can't manage to check the status of my PR card (which Immigration Officers registered me for when I was landing) online, nor can I link the PR Card application to...

Are vaccination records required when landing as a PR?

Thanks. Sorry, I got thrown off because it said "If you or your child hasn’t been vaccinated, call your doctor or local public health clinic right away." Also, in the very beginning (before the Essential Documents) section, it said that these were the documents we MUST have in order to be...

Are vaccination records required when landing as a PR?

See this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp (under Health Documentation) Is it mandatory to have vaccination records when landing? I'm not sure if I'll still be able to retrieve vaccination records anymore, as I live far away from the clinic where I had the...

Shipping personal goods *before* landing as PR?

Hi everyone, I'll be landing as PR soon, and I've been fortunate enough to have secured an apartment that I'll be able to move into in a month (and I'll be landing a day before I move into that apartment). To make the move easier, I'm hoping to ship over some of our belongings into a Canadian...

Planning to land in December...Canadian taxes?

My spouse and I have our COPRs, and we are preparing to head to Canada and land in the middle of December. We are going to open a Canadian bank account before we land, this week (so early/mid November). I will not be taking any time off of work, and I'll be working remotely for a US employer...

How to list monetary value of belongings being moved into Canada?

So we're in the process of getting our passports stamped, and now I'm realizing that we have tonnes of stuff we will have to declare on the B4 form if we want to bring them into Canada. We live in a tiny studio flat, but we're still going to have at least 10 boxes of our household items and...

Disclosing a possible (juvenile) criminal record?

I think I vaguely, vaguely remember possibly being read my Miranda rights...but I'm not 100% sure.

Disclosing a possible (juvenile) criminal record?

I'm so excited that I got an ITA! However, in the PR application, it asks if I've ever been arrested, and in another question, if I've ever been detained/incarcerated. I'm worried because although I otherwise have a clean record (I'm currently 27 years old), I did get in trouble when I was 14...

Already in Express Entry, if I get job offer with LMIA, can I go to Canada?

Wow, it's free for the employer since we'd be using it for PR (we want to become Canadian citizens eventually)? That's great news. We currently have 419 points now, soon to be 427 assuming my ECA (as a spouse) goes through. Would it be possible for him to work remotely from our home country...

Already in Express Entry, if I get job offer with LMIA, can I go to Canada?

Hi there, If my husband gets a job offer with an LMIA and can then claim the 600 points for it in EE, it still might take several months or a year to get invited to apply, and to get the PR. However, if he got the LMIA, could we then apply for a temporary work permit (even while already in...

    CELPIP: successful re-evaluation!

Sigh...my spouse, who was the primary applicant because he has a PhD and 4 years of work experience, originally received the following scores: Reading: 12 Listening: 11 Writing: 8 Speaking: 10 We requested a reevaluation, got notified that it was complete, and the scores hadn't changed at all...

    Self-Employment Supporting Documents Needed?

If I worked as a freelance writer in addition to my full-time day job, but got paid in cash for the freelance writing gigs, would I still qualify for the self-employment program? I checked the official immigration website, and I don't see any details on that.

    CELPIP Exam experience

I think I did really poorly on the Speaking section, despite being a native English speaker. I got really nervous talking about rather personal topics in a starkly silent room full of strangers trying to take a test and a frowning test proctor sitting right behind me, so I think I spoke too...

Finding out if already a naturalized citizen?

Hi Links, I'm honestly not sure if they formally adopted me or not. I do know that at the time, they were living in the US, though there was a lot of back and forth travel over the border.

Finding out if already a naturalized citizen?

Also, I don't know if it matters, but my grandmother was born in Canada in 1930.
