    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

A little clarification: the checklist I mentioned above (IMM5533) is for spousal sponsorship. It may not be applied for common law cases and others. But the approach I suggested, which is to check all the forms right before you submit an application would be valid for all cases, not just spouses.

    ***DECEMBER 2018 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

Hi @svilli , I just stumbled upon this text: Applicants (person being sponsored) Once your sponsor is found to be eligible, we’ll send you (or your authorized representative, if you have one) an acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) letter with your application number on it. If you provided an...

    ***DECEMBER 2018 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

Usually a background check is one of the latest steps, even though some people are reporting totally opposite cases here :) But I would consider those cases more as an exception. First your application will be transferred to a VO overseas, then will go your eligibility check, and only then a...

    ***DECEMBER 2018 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

A question to sponsors who linked an application to sponsor's GCKey and who are NOT representatives of their PAs. I read in this thread that it actually does not matter to whose account you're linking your application, sponsor's or PA's. So I apologize for bringing this question up again. But...

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Advice for everyone who is going to apply soon. Please check you are using the latest forms, especially the checklist. Here's the catch: a checklist form was updated in December 2018. But if you go here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp to check all the forms you...

    ***DECEMBER 2018 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

Yeah, I checked that file as well, all months back to June, and I can see the trend. For those who applied in June, the average time for AOR was about 30-45 days. But starting July it sharply increased to around 90-120 days, which is 3-4 months. I can see the only reason here: in July 2018 IRCC...

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Where is this information coming from? If an applicant tried to get PR status in Canada before spousal sponsorship application (for example via refugee program) and was not successful, then sponsorship might be considered as "being desperate to enter Canada". But TRV is just visitor/tourist...

Actually, there will be a fast phase with SA, biometric and medicals, all of which should fit in a month or so, but then it will again slow down. When an application is transferred to a VO overseas, it might take months without any actions.

You're right, there is no harm. A lot of people try, I know. If it's refused (I mean TRV), it's on them, it's their decision. But it doesn't have anything to do with your sponsorship application.

Hi @micky11111 ! As far as I know you don't need UCI and can apply for TRV now. But consider that chances for someone who is in the process for PR application to get a TRV are usually low. But you can give it a try.

Thanks for your reply. I've been reading December 2018 applications thread from start, but there are so many messages there, I haven't even gone through half of them. Some information there is very useful. I'll see all messages about SA when I come to the end of the thread :) My timeline is, we...

Thank you. Yeah, I know about ECAS. I was more curious how SA reflects on mycic and who's getting an email about an approval - a sponsor or a PA.

Hi @svilli , may I please ask you about sponsor approval? I can see you just got approved. How does it look like, did you get an email about it or it's in MyCIC? I'm just reading different sources, and some of them say if you link an application to PA's account, only PA's process information...

I may agree with you about 5 days because I don't have any other info about it, but to link an app you don't have to wait for AOR. Right at the moment I'm reading this thread...

Thank you for the thorough response! I imagined it should be something like that, so you've confirmed my thoughts. My file hasn't been transferred to Warsaw yet, we just applied. I just know it will be Warsaw. It's a long wait, and seeing other people's progress somehow helps...

@svilli , can you please tell us about biometrics? it's very new, there is almost no info about it. After you had received biometrics request, did you just go to Canada VAC (visa application centre)? Do you need to arrange an appointment? What city did you go to?
