I also submitted a web form two weeks ago but haven't received a reply yet. They sent me a letter asking for more information, which included an XG number at the top. I assumed this was the G number I had been waiting for, so I tried to link my account using that number, but it didn’t work. :(

That was my opinion and I was already starting the process using the portal until a friend told me not to do that (especially filling out the BOC file by myself) because it needs to be filed by a lawyer so there wouldn't be any mistakes. Is that true?
