I just did one for my husband, that's how I know the process. I guess it could differ from office to office. However, standard is that they require applicant to sign the consent in order to release specific details to the sponsor.

If you want specific information released to you then they will require consent. They usually send you the one specific to their office.

Yes, you can contact your MP office. They will communicate through email. They will need your spouse to sign a consent letter to release the information to you.

Yes, I received a reply from MP on Aug 13, 2020, IRCC canceled the withdrawal request. It means my chances of interview are extremely high. But we are ready for it.
