In India you do have to submit the FIR when applying for replacement DL won't that be a problem? Because it is actually not lost/stolen but you know you surrendered it. Sorry to bother you just trying to look at it from different angles.

Do you know if anyone tried that? I was wondering if Canadian MTO sends info to Indian RTO that this license has been surrendered or something like that, thus causing problems :/

Can you get AB DL without surrendering your DL from a non reciprocal country like India?

Is this true for an Indian DL as well because Canada has no reciprocal arrangement with India?

Hi, I was reading online that you have to surrender your current DL from another country in order to get an AB License. Is there any way I can keep my current license and get the Alberta License as well ?

After you surrender your orginal Indian D/L to the MTO, is it possible to get it back from the issuing RTO in India when you visit India??

Congratulations!! As per immitracker it takes almost 6-10 days for NDVO to process visa and send back. Keep track on immitracker here https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/passport-processing-tracker as I'm not sure about their timelines. I had sent my passport to CPC-Ottawa.
