I walked in at BLS Brampton on Sept 26th for renunciation and received the certificate in mail on 10th Oct. Hope this helps.

Update at 13:09 - Application submitted successfully. The lady counter said it’s taking 2 months to receive OCI but I would rather trust the timelines here. Again BLS Toronto.

Update at 12:31 pm. I am finally inside. Once inside, you are handed a token which shows up on the screen. Looks like it takes another 30-45 min for you to actually see someone at the counter. Will post another update once am done.

Live experience at the BLS Toronto. People are here since 10pm. I reached at 5am this morning and am 28th in line. The list is growing and has 37 people now. Not sure if I will be able to make it.

Yes that’s what I meant. All I am concerned with is if they keep the Canadian passport coz that means I will not be able to travel next week.

Does BLS take original documents like the Canadian passport while applying for the oci as walk-in?

Hi everyone, I applied to renunciate indian passport at BLS Brampton (application date Sept 26th). How long would it be approximately until I get the certificate. I have to apply for OCI immediately after since I have tickets to India booked for Nov 29th. Do you think I can still make it to India?

Did someone say ceremonies from multiple offices can be clubbed together? I have my ceremony on Aug 30th and I do not have an email as of yet. On the Find a citizenship page, I saw Mississauga has ceremonies scheduled for Aug 30th but Scarborough doesn’t show any ceremonies scheduled for rest of...

I believe oaths are office specific and each office has its own schedule.
