Same here. I can work remotely and work for a Canadian company so if it comes thru I'll transfer my job over. Think you do need a return flight alright but I'll come back for Christmas anyways so don't mind that. Hopefully changing address to Canadian one with ircc will put us in a different queue!

My medical expired 2 weeks ago. Hopefully I won't need to do another one. I'm thinking of going to Canada next month as I can work remotely so if they contact me I'll be there already, in case that is any help. Yep! I think they have to review everything and decide whether or not to extend the medicals even if you're approved in gcms. If they extend and you're approved should be golden after that

Me too! Aor 14th July 2020. Aplroved since December as per gcms notes. I'll post if I get any news and ye too let me know the craic!

Has anyone noticed if outlands are getting medicals extended these days? I'm wondering if they will all be extended since islands are being exempted

I don't see how that will make an difference until (a) they reach their vaccination targets (b) they can deal with the backlogs according to their processing capacity (c) whether applicants are in a country with variants. Maybe you could force them to give you an answer and they would say sure...

@legalfalcon do you think that the 23k people that IRCC mentioned that were given PR last year bit couldn't accept were the ones that were actually issued COPR only or do you think it includes people who were approved but not given the COPR? Thanks!

I'm not expecting that they will do anything until they contain their pandemic outbreaks and vaccinate the majority of their own population. At least their vaccination programme is speeding up bit will be a long wait yet, they def won't open their borders till canada is safe for Canadians which...

I am in this situation I think they will announce a policy in Sept or Oct when they will know how their vaccination policy has worked compared to their targets. I think that's the biggest factor in when they open their borders to this group.
