Thank you and good luck with your passport. For the record and for further readers I did the same thing: I sent my passport and eventually a letter to IRCC and got the response that they contacted the local visa where my spouse is but didn't receive any further instructions yet.

The day my MEP passed the status in the background check was IP1 and then the day after I received an email and when I logged it changed to IP2
