All queries are legitimate, even those made 'out of curiosity'. If IRCC made the info that people are requesting easier to access there would be no need for such queries in the first place. The only motive of those discouraging such queries would be that it reflects badly on the IRCC, as an...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Unfortunately I don't think a bunch of PRs protesting will elicit the same reaction from Trudeau and his 'woke' crew as these recent arrivals from Afghanistan. But we'll lose nothing by trying. I'm down for joining a protest group outside IRCC Montreal if it comes to that.

Letter to IRCC Minister on citizenship delay - PLEASE JOIN IN SENDING THIS

It's just one or two oath invites per month, the bare minimum to maintain some semblance of 'activity'. How inefficient is that to have a citizenship judge, clerks and technical staff mobilized for a 3-hour oath ceremony via zoom just for a handful of people? In the case of Montreal we are...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

This. I remember reading in the past a couple of 'members' on this forum (in most likelihood IRCC plants) were annoyed at people's repeated requests for GCMS notes and were actively discouraging such action. I think I understand why now.

    June 2020 - Citizenship Application

IRCC will milk the 'Afghanistan situation' for as long as they can. They could only use the covid excuse for so long. With the vaccine mandate and most places opening up again they had to come up with some new bullsh*t. Never mind Mandamus, I'm beginning to think refusing to answer questions...

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

I have a feeling a lot of people are just scared of Mandamus or the idea of taking any sort of legal action against the government.

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

The court will ask them to finalize and complete the processing of the citizenship application and that includes oath taking.

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

True. That's why I believe everyone whose case is routine and taking too long should give Mandamus a try because probably as you said 99% of these cases will be processed promptly once IRCC is notified of the filing.

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

For those interested you can look up citizenship Mandamus cases on Canlii. Here are some cases I found from the last 3 years and a brief summary of the reasons why the mandamus application was dismissed or accepted: 1...

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

It hasn't even been a year for me (November 2020) but seeing as I'm a Montreal applicant - IRCC Montreal is the worst of the worst - I'm putting aside funds for a potential Mandamus filing in late 2022 if my case is still not finalized by then.

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

What I meant is that residency issues seem like a lesser offense compared to having links with a terrorist organization, so if people with the latter issue were able to have a court force the IRCC to speed up the processing of their case then so should other applicants facing unreasonable...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Nothing wrong with a side hustle if it's not done on your main employer's time. In the case of the IRCC officers doing that I wouldn't be surprised if they were overlapping their second gig with their primary job which would explain their low productivity. In fact since going remote quite a few...

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

The applicants had family members involved with a radical Islamist group and IRCC told the court the need for a thorough security review made the delay reasonable. Imagine if applicants with ties to potential terrorist organizations can get a court to order IRCC to process their application in a...

I think everyone who's been waiting more than two years should start the mandamus process.

IRCC Montreal gives them both a run for their money when it comes to delays, unresponsiveness and laziness of their employees. It's the absolute worst.

    Need your opinion for citizenship

He should look into hiring a lawyer to have a writ of mandamus issued by a federal court.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Question is how do we get their attention? Apparently even local MPs can't seem to get through to them, the same generic answer is being given to everyone - that covid delays are out of their control. Media isn't as powerful anymore so I doubt media articles will achieve anything. I'm taking the...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

I'm wondering what sort of collective action we can take in the case of the Montreal office. In my 5+ years in Quebec I've found inefficiency and ineffectiveness to be par for the course for the public service sector here - general lack of resources and capacity, lazy and parasitical civil...

Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

It seems to be a Montreal issue. Every other office is sending oath invites anywhere from 1 to 5 months following Decision Made.

Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

I would go on the work trip if I were you. The Montreal office seems to be the slowest at scheduling oath ceremonies. The wait time from Decision Made to oath invite could be 8+months (going by the last person on this forum to have received theirs). It seems you aren't even at the Decision Made...
