One year to receive an AOR after submitting an application?

Purely by being on this forum for a long period , below is what I think ( and not legal advice ): 1. Some folks do not get AOR. Some folks miss/delete the email which is the AOR. As long as you moved to next stage ( test, background ) you would be good. You may need the application file number...

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

I did a soft landing and left for 2.5 years for work reason. Had 5 trips outside of Canada during my eligibility period. Jul 1 applicant. Waiting for LPP.

    June 2023 - Citizenship Applications

May I ask why could we not apply under privacy act for free? It does provide an option for officer notes.

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Not universally true. But most folks whose background is pending after test completion will get a fingerprint request. Your background will complete very soon after fingeprints, if there is no additional security screening.

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

Just asking. Wouldn't the number of updates be proportional to the number of items that change on your status. For ex: fingerprints received and background completed = 2 new updates. Test complete = 1 update etc. Just my guess.

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

While you may be right, ghost updates never have an actual update. The actual status update happens a few days later. May I ask what was the number of updates in your ghost update on 27th? Was it like "1 new update" or "4 new updates" etc. ?

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I wish it was a batch update and am hoping that it does turn out that way. But the characteristics do not match a regular GU. In other threads, some folks whose citizenship ceremony is over got a GU. Also the timing was non-standard. The update did not happen at 5 ET as usual but around 3 hours...

    May 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Thank you. If your application is one of the slower offices, the LPP usually completes around 4 month mark after the test completion date. So you are getting closer to the mark where you should get an update. I hope it happens sooner rather than later for you. Best of Luck!!!

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

That is a bummer. Thanks for pointing out though. I was already suspicious given the fact that the update happened at a time which is not usual. I guess I will have to stay positive a little while longer. Can all who got an update, post their processing office? Trying to figure out if it was a...

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Some good news. Both the applications had a Ghost update today. Don't know what changed but good to know the applications were looked at. Processing center: Scarborough. Last change in one application (test completed) was Aug 24th and in the other(background check complete after fingerprints)...

Leaving Canada After Applying for Citizenship

Sydney is a CIO ( Central Intake Office ). So it shouldn't be the primary processing office for most folks. Some folks get assigned to RC8090( or something similar ) during background stage during Background processing/LPP state. This is Sydney and if assigned to this, your application is going...

    August 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Took me about 3 weeks for fingerprints to be updated in tracker. I also sent an email on day 20 to the same office that I received the fingerprint request from asking for the status. If you got a DCN number from Canadian fingerprinting services, you can send RCMP an email to inquire about the...

For Scarborough, replace 5 weeks by 5 months. If you don't hear anything by 6 months, you could be concerned. This is based on me following the Scarborough thread ( application processing starts 4 months after test cleared ).

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I believe you are Scarborough where the application gets picked up around the 4 month mark after the test for LPP/Oath and there is no update before that. Atleast this is what I have calculated from all the updates in Scarborough thread. This sort of meets CIC guideline that most people get...

Can I leave Canada immediately after submitting Citizenship Application

Ultimately it is your choice since the consequences will be all yours either way. Below are only suggestions and definitely not legal advice :) : Q1) Can I leave Canada immediately after applying for citizenship? Not recommended. If you take the test outside of Canada, your application has a...

GCMS Notes - In response to urgent request, applicant was removed from ceremony!

Based on what I have read on this forum ( been following it for a very long time ), below is my "guess": During final check i.e. your application's final review before oath, your application was picked ( for some unknown reason ) for an additional review(TFR-verification could be for the...

Just to clarify. I meant that you will see fingerprint processing complete about 3 weeks after you submit them.
