When did you apply? I think in a few months, London will process applications very quickly since the CUEAT is done and they’ve also changed their auto response about not processing visitor visas. So you’ll hear back soon. Fingers crossed

You can look for a conference and ask the organisers if they’re registered. Although this won’t guarantee getting the visa.

I think it’s field dependent as major science conferences move around the world. So this year in North America, the next Africa, then Europe etc. So coming to Canada for a conference is definitely field and situation dependent.

Where are you applying from? Is the conference in your field as well. Like do you have experience in such areas?

Update: Two friends got PPR this week from London office. They both applied in July 2023. I think people should start hearing back in the next two to three months.

Hello, Someone has two visitor visa applications and the most recent one was approved but the old one is still processing. New one CAN+ old one general category. Will this be an issue. Shouldn’t the embassy have automatically cancelled the previous one? Or will they still process it?

Hello, A friend of mine cancelled her visa application. But just got a BVL and a comment saying “Your application is in progress” under Final decision. Is this cancellation for real or have they made a decision on the application? But the tracker says “We received the withdrawal request”
