Hi! I was offered the option to pick up last week, so it's not mandatory to opt for courier. It's not worth dealing with them again and again, so it's probably the better decision to opt for courier.

Might be true for other forms, but OCI is not just any other form.. Also, BLS makes the rules, not CGI. Just best to stick with the marriage registration date since many applicants like me have made the mistake so you don't have to!

I had read the same extract and hence chosen date the marriage was solemnized and not registered. I walked in with two applications - Marriage date and Registration date - Was ready for any googlies.

Hahaha! I knew you'd roast me.. it's a thing, I swear. Email Updates come in play only when CGI finds an issue with our applications. I know they won't, but, my wife and I are about to have our baby and I don't have the time or energy to deal with BLS in-person again. Plus, it's $9.. sue...

No. However, I voluntarily opted for courier services to receive our OCIs for $53 plus taxes per applicant and $9+Taxes for the email updates per applicant. The email updates allow you to email any requested documents to BLS instead of coming back in-person, if CGI asks for anything.

As long as the payment is made out to CGI, Toronto, it doesn't matter if you pay for your family members and the draft has your name listed as the account holder or the requester. Am I correct? @abbas.pasha @forw.jane
