    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

If CBSA notes say "Security: Not started", with no apparent redactions, no mentions of VITs, and no officer assigned, does this mean it could be ongoing at CSIS? My CSIS notes are taking longer than expected to arrive

    EE Security in-progress

Same, I received my CBSA notes today and also found "Security: not started", and "Location: RROC FSW Admissiblity Review Required". Curiously, all the latest remarks by case officers are along the lines of "File reviewed - Eligibility previously assessed and passed. Criminality passed. medicals...

Ottawa VO candidates waiting for final review by officer.

Update: I called another IRCC phone agent last week, and she told me my security check was yet to start. At the same time, the IRCC tracker regressed to show security in progress. But when my CBSA notes came in, it said that an eligibility review is pending. Conclusion: IRCC phone agents and...

    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

Dear @legalfalcon, Is it true that nowadays, every outland applicant goes through security screening record/comprehensive check by CSIS and then CBSA, where the only difference is that some applications go through them in hours while others take years? Is having "Security: not started" (with...

Does the info given by IRCC phone agents ever differ from GCMS notes?

Update: Another IRCC phone agent told me today that background check is still ongoing. Whether it is a comprehensive security screening is not specified. So only IRCC/CBSA notes yield the definitive answer.

It seems the union and the government are converging on the wages issue, but just the WFH disagreements could mean two more weeks to this strike.

Does the info given by IRCC phone agents ever differ from GCMS notes?

Hello all, On the GCKey portal, my application has seen no movement since February 2. According the IRCC tracker, my eligibility has been completed since March 20th, and on April 19th I received the same "in progress" update as everyone else. An IRCC phone agent told me on April 7th, that every...

Ottawa VO candidates waiting for final review by officer.

The IRCC phone agent told me on Friday that my eligibility, background check and security screening have all passed, pending final approval at Ottawa VO. I spent 9 years in the US, so they might be spending time to cross check with CBP or USCIS. This thread seems to suggest things can get stuck...

All completed - No PPR yet

The IRCC phone agent told me on Friday that my eligibility, background check and security screening have all finished, pending final approval at Ottawa VO. I also spent 6+ years in the US. A few recent threads seem to suggest things can get stuck at this final stage for weeks or months...
