The new tracker was updated with the background check completed and when I logged into GCkey, it was showing a ghost update. So there is a possibility that these are related.

Yes you can apply using your passport for identification. My wife went to Brantford center and she was able to get it. If you already have proof of driving history outside Canada, they will include that in your records.

I have a similar situation, we had medicals four years back and as per the latest online status it says that "Medicals have passed"

I can see my file number and was able to link the application to my profile but never received an email. When does CIC typically send the biometric request?

I did not receive an email, but could finally check the status in ECAS and was also able to link the application to the online account. So definitely a good Xmas present. the application was received on 12th August.

I am still waiting for my temporary AOR :) sent the application on 11th August and received by CPC Mississauga on 12th August.
