    Called cic today they said card went for printing on 6th but hasnt been sent yet...need to travel by 20th...dont know if it will reach by then... Can anyone help with how much time it usually takes to receieve tje card post their sendinh it??

    To be safe you can call them in intervals of one week post your normal processing time duration is over. They can refuse to give info if you are regularly calling before the processing time duration but post that they sympathise :-)

    Called IRCC and they said this email has been swnt to everybody as information only, no correlation with PR card processing. Still they maintain they dont have visibility of cards for people landed post 24th Oct. As their call center is handled by a third party so i believe they wouldnt be given...

    Thanks for the reply...if i carry a currency card, does that also count as a monetary instrument as then i will not have to declare it? And will its reciept be accepted as a prrof of fund?

    Thanks for the reply...but if I am carrying cash & TCs, the proof will be the receipts only, so there will be no formal POF letter with me? will that do. And then when do I declare this amount to customs as this will be >CAD 10000. never realized such a simple thing can be so confusing :(

    I am still unclear about the POF....does bank FD's and deposts count as POF on landing or only cash and traveler's cheques are considered as proof of funds??

    thanks a lot for your reply...I had one query...the POF with the fixed deposits and current account balance plus the cash in hand should match the funds requirement? or the cash in hand needs to be over and above the POF statement of matching the requirement??
