I collected my passport on 21 September - all ready as promised. I updated my Nexus membership on the Canadian side last Friday, and drove to Blaine today to update on the US side. So all done - Canadian now and all set!

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that. The only data point I have is that a friend who did a postal application had to sign for delivery of the passport when it arrived.

They didn't have to ask - I had included a copy of my ticket with my application which they looked at and returned to me. The clerk didn't say anything other than "so you're travelling on 26 September".

I received the email to create the IRCC portal account at 9.16am this morning. I created the account shortly after that, but couldn't download my e-certificate at that time. I logged in at 5pm today and was able to download my e-certificate. Off to the Passport Office at first light...

Thanks very much. I'll wait until 48 hours have passed since my oath ceremony, and then try creating an account if I've not heard anything then. There's been no update in my tracker, but it's only been 26 hours or so since I did the Zoom oath ceremony.

Not yet. They said 2 to 5 days for electronic certificate to be available. I sent my signed oath form immediately after the ceremony. As I understand things, I must wait until I receive the email saying I can download from the IRCC Portal - is that correct?

And today I made my oath. Citizenship all done! Now to getting a passport!!!

IRCC's current view of the law is that you must be physically in Canada to make the citizenship oath in person or remotely by videolink. It is possible to reschedule your oath date at least once (there are reports on this forum of rescheduling more than once). The instructions for doing so...

An update from me in relation to rescheduling: my application history was updated on 22 June 2023 to "Citizenship Oath: Not started". I hope that means someone looked at my file and a rescheduled ceremony isn't too far away. Fingers crossed!
