    Hi, if you are talking about PR Portal (PR confirmation) email (P2) - there should be a link that you can click that leads you to the portal and you can use the credentials that you use to apply for PR to log in.

    That is P1. I can only answer your second question. The next stop is P2 which will be an email sending to you and letting you know that you can log in on the pr portal to add your address and upload your photo.

    When did you apply? It took another 6-7 months for me for the background check after biometrics was done.

    Did you try to include "the sponsor" in the number of applicants? like instead of "3" your wife + 2 kids, try 4 (include you in there)

    pre-arrival letter is not that useful if you are inland. Your partner might get a biometrics instruction letter soon!
